Donor Care Specialist This program presents the principles and procedures, both theoretical and practical, associated with the collection of clinical blood specimens. Courses include ethics, legal issues, safety practices, medical terminology, related anatomy and physiology, and proficient use of blood drawing equipment. Students will develop professional blood drawing skills, which can be applied to newborns, pediatric, juvenile and geriatric patients. This program also prepares students with basic clinical skills and advanced phlebotomy techniques needed to perform as an assistant in a clinical lab facility, donor collection services agency, dialysis centers and plasma centers. Students interested in this course must meet certain requirements before enrolling in this course. |
